Jayashree Deshpande is a renowned architect, educator, and sociologist, currently Director of the Council of Architecture – Training & Research Centre (COA-TRC). Monto Mani is a Professor with Centre for Sustainable Technologies (CST) and Department of Design & Manufacturing (CPDM), Indian Institute of Science. His Sustainability and Design (SuDesi http://cst.iisc.ac.in/sudesi/) Lab deals with Sustainability science focusing both on its theoretical basis, and translation into architecture (buildings) and design. He is an Architect, with a master’s in civil engineering and doctoral specialization in Sustainability, wherein he developed a systems-framework identifying societal attitude as a critical determinant of sustainability.
